Beschreibung
Here we have a beautiful full CCCA classic car in this 1929 Series 135, 4-door, Franklin. The Franklin comes to you in a sharp Yellow and Black exterior, with a Tan mohair cloth interior. Powering this huge car is 248ci, 6-cylinder, 60hp engine, with a 3-speed manual transmission. This is a big, elegant, 5-passenger vehicle, riding on a 125 inch wheelbase, and has tons of leg room in the rear seat. It has a clock, Masco rear seat heater, wood spoke rims, sun visor, windshield wiper, and Coker Classic tires. Franklins were built in Syracuse, New York from 1902-1934, with 1929 being the highest production year, producing 14,432 total cars. The Great Depression now was in full swing, starting the death of the Franklin as production numbers dropped dramatically. A big fan of Franklins was famous airplane pilot Charles Lindbergh. With the banks now in control of the company and calling it quits in 1934, legend has it that Herbert Franklin got up from his desk, grabbed his hat off of the coat hook, and walked out. Grab a hold of some automotive history here in this beautiful Franklin before it’s gone.
