Sure looks stock, doesnt it? Just sitting there on its brand new Rallye wheels, crisp blue painthow much trouble can you get into tangling with a car like that? Ahh440+6 badges on the hoodhmmthat might mean something. Talk to the owner: Sure, hed be interested in a little stoplight drag action. Youve got a tough car, you say to yourself. He fires the Cuda and you suddenly wish you hadnt bet so much moneyyoure going to losethe only question is by how much. Originally a 340/auto model this beautiful, true BS23 1970 Cuda is an example of how to over-restore a car, and then over-power it! Were not the types who overlook Chryslers potent small block, but were suckers for the ported Edelbrock heads, big Six Pack setup and the high-flow TTI exhaust on the built 440 under the hood of this car. An MSD distributor and wire-set get their orders from a Mopar-branded 6AL box while cooling duties are handled by the aluminum water pump, Wizard Cooling radiator and twin SPAL fan setup. Those big cast aluminum valve covers are all business and match perfectly with the unpainted heads and intake. A reproduction air cleaner assembly hides a trip of brand new Holley carbs worth a whopping 1350CFM of flow. A new alternator, reproduction ballast resistor, voltage regulator and a group 27 red cap battery provide the electrical power. A stock power brake booster and a Stainless Steel Brake Corporation billet master cylinder push on the four wheel disc brake system below. The wiring harnesses are new, the washer fluid system is newthis is a well-done, show worthy engine compartment! Outside youll find laser straight panels dripping in EB5 Blue Fire Metallic paint. The original grille up front is in excellent condition, as is the valence insert, and the road lamps (coded L34 on the original fender tag) are new. both front and rear bumpers sport high quality re-chroming while the stainless trim bright and shiny. Front chin spoilers balance out the very cool Go-Wing on the trunk. The coolest mod on the entire car is the blue hockey stick stripes on the quarter panelstheyre subtle, but everyone who notices them is blown away by the effect! Bolt-on chrome parts from the door handles to the badges to the dual mirrors are brand new. Wheel Vintiques rallye wheels, 15x7 all around, wear new trim rings, center caps and 245/60/15 B F Goodrich Radial T/As for the classic lookthere isnt a single E-body on the planet that doesnt look good with rallyes on it! The restorer liked the look of the chrome bumpers, and we cant blame him, but this is a TRUE A22 dual Elastomeric bumper car! Hows that for rare? Drop underneath and check out the rest of the very serious hardware. Bolted to the 440 is a Keisler 5 speed TKO setup, hydraulic throw out bearing setup and custom aluminum driveshaft. Out back youll find an overkill, Moser-built Dana 60 axle with 3.54 gears, high-strength axles and disc brakes. If you break this guy wed love to see the carnage and hear the story! More disc brakes are up front, all part of the SSBC brake package. New rotors are at all four corners, along with all new brake lines and hoses. New stainless fuel lines run from the electric pump forward. Sub-frame connectors keep the body from twisting while the QA1 adjustable aluminum shocks and front and rear sway bars keep it level. All this hardware, and its fully body color painted underneathhow that for having your cake and eating it too?One last stopthe interior. Sit on fresh leather seats, grab onto the leather-wrapped Grant Tuff wheel with your left while you grip the TKO pistol grip with Gunslinger ebony wood grips coming out of the center console. Fresh carpet and ACC mats are below, a new headliner is above and new door panels are at your sides. A full complement of rallye gauges nestles under the fresh dash pad while power window motors keep you cool or dry. This is a factory P31 power window car, too! Custom Autosound provided the head unit, kick panels and speakers and the speakers in the rear deck under the reproduction package tray. Its a comfortable place to mow down the competition! Beautiful cosmetics, totally bulletproof mechanicals and a thorough restoration of a very interesting carthis Cuda fires on all cylinders! Look at it, sit in it, dominate the streets in itits a LOT of fun any which way you use it!
